Gear oil should be changed every 4,000 to 5,000 miles. Motor oil should be changed every 3,000 miles to keep the engine running clean.
The manufacturer recommends that you change the oil in your Range Rover 220 Turbo diesel every 7500 miles. The oil should be changed at least once per year.
If the leakage is actually gear oil, this indicates worn seals, and or shafts'. Often times however, the leakage is not gear oil, but rather unburned fuel that has run down the exhaust housing, and leaked out of the gearcase. A pressure / vaccume check should confirm, or rule out, seal failure / worn shafts in gearcase.

I'm not sure measurement wise......but................... As in most diffs....you check the gear oil by opening a large plug screw, located on the side of the diff, with a 3/8 , or a 1/2 inch ratchet driver. The gear oil should just start to spill a little bit out of the hole after you take out the plug. If it does not spill ANY oil.....THEN you are low. Just use your finger , stick it downward in the hole, and you will feel the oil level. (seriously)
SAE 75W90 synthetic gear oil
The engine oil should be changed every 3000-5000 miles
Change the oil filter every time you change the oil.
The average motorist should change the oil every 3000 miles. Oil should be changed more often if driven in dusty condition.
The oil should be changed every 6 months or 3,000 miles, wich ever comes first.
Every 30,000 miles
If you do not drive it often, I would recommend getting it changed every 3 months. That is what many mechanics tell you to do.

There is no such thing as engine oil changes in two stroke motorcycle engines. The two stroke oil serves to lubricate the engine as it is mixed with gasoline. For the gearbox, on the average a yearly change of gear oil is sufficient.
