The Fuller Brooch is a piece of late 9th Century Anglo saxon art found in Normandy, France. It is a large disc of hammered sheet silver, diameter 11.4cms. It is decorated with the 'five senses' Sight, Taste, Smell, Touch and Hearing. It was found in excellent condition but subsequently thought to be a fake. The brooch was in a museum in Oxford, taken off display and bought by a Captain Fuller who donated it to the British Museum on the condition that is was called the Fuller Brooch. This was in 1952
