According to Ingo Walther and Rainer Metger who were the art historians that researched and photographed EVERY painting done by Vincent Van Gogh, there were only three nude paintings done by the artist. # Nude Woman on a Bed (1887) - Oil on Canvas # Nude Woman Reclining (1887) - Oil on Canvas # Nude Woman Reclining, Seen from the Back (1887) - Oil on Canvass He did sign the work Vincent. The first painting (Nude on Bed) is currently owned by the Barnes Foundation, the second is currently owned by the Otterlo, Kroller-Mullen-Museum and the third is in Paris and owned by a private collector. Here are a few characteristics to look for of an authentic Van Gogh: * Highly visible brushstrokes * Strong contrast of color * Defined forms with an outline (almost looks as though the figure is outlined then he came back much later and filled in the color).
