I went into Lugia's cave and caught Lugia but then did i realized that i didnt have an escape rope. How do I get out?

Just go out the door you came in and go backwards there is a way out other than an escape rope, i haven't played silver/gold/HeartGold/SoulSilver in a few months so i dont remember the way out completely.

Attack him until his HP is in orange, then start to throw PokeBalls, GreatBalls, UltraBalls, ect. A good time to catch him is at night since he is in a cave and it would be a good time to use a DarkBall.Advice 4: I believe that if you K.O. Lugia, you can go beat the Elite 4 again, then come back and find it. Same for all other legendaries, like Mewtwo.

I just faced Lugia in crystal(and caught it by the way. Easier to catch asleep I found than paralyzed, burned, ect.) and it used it 20 times then stopped and didn't use it again, even when its health was real low. I looked around on other sites for this same question and they all said that recover normally has 20 pp, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume that Lugia's pp of recover is a normal 20.
