Well, in some cars the slight acidity of the rain could cause the engine to cut off the egnition twist switch. If you rub some PVA glue on the engine it should cancel out some of the acidity. Tell me if it works, as i have some more suggestions if not.
For sure! Cold makes the oil get thick, and thick oil keeps the engine from turning over fast enough to start. Also, the amount of electricity available from the car's battery is much less in cold weather, again keeping the engine from turning over fast enough to start.
Rain
If your car is equipped with rain sensing wipers and the wiper switch is in position I, the wiper will run once at tutrning on the ignition to indicate that the wipers are in rain sensing mode. this is what the documentation for my 2002 E320 says!. Thanks, Vic
