An enlarged ventricle is usually due to either cardiomyopathy (a weakening of the heart muscle) or valvular Heart disease. Valve disease is usually treated by correcting the underlying valve problem (initially with medicines, often later with surgery). The most common cause of an enlarged ventricle is cardiomyopathy,a serious disease in which the heart muscle becomes inflamed and doesn't work as well as it should. Initial treatment is with medications, such as diuretics, digitalis, vasodilators (ACE inhibitors and/or ARB inhibitors), and beta blockers, such as carvedilol (Coreg) or metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL). In more severe cases special pacemakers or defibrillators are used. Only in the most difficult cases are heart transplants occasionally required. Hope this helped you out. Good luck!

How does a baby scan work?

A baby scan or ultrasound machine is a device that checks your unborn baby's condition. It shows a gray visual where you can see your baby's body and movement. Your OB can explain how your baby is going to look like on the scan itself. When you get to the baby scan center, they are going to put ultrasound gel on your belly and later there's the ultrasound probe that they will pass over your skin. The baby will then be visible on the monitor because of the baby scan.

What does it mean when a CT scan shows no abnormal periaortic or retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy?

When a CT scan shows no abnormal periaortic or retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy, it indicates that there are no enlarged lymph nodes in the areas surrounding the aorta and in the retroperitoneal space, which are often evaluated for signs of infection, inflammation, or malignancy. This finding generally suggests that there is no evidence of significant disease processes, such as cancer metastasis or severe infections, in these lymphatic regions. It is typically a reassuring result in the context of diagnosing certain conditions.

I have an ultrasound scheduled on the 30th of this month if I am pregnant would they be able to see anything on the ultrasound even though it is only two weeks after ovulation?

If you were pregnant the developing embryo would be about the size of the head of a pin. The embryo is not the first sign of pregnancy found on ultrasound; the yolk sac shows up long before the embryo is visible. The yolk sac can't be seen uon ultrasound until at least four weeks after the last period.
