Men
In Athens the women weren't free, they had to clean, cook, and had to be hidden when they're husband's friends comes over. In Sparta, the women were free and they could have jobs and go anywhere! But in athens, they had to ask for permission. In sparta, they had better security, they had the military but athens didnt care about the military. In athens, only men were able to vote and participate in the government but in sparta, women can join the military and get jobs also they can vote!
in Sparta were only free men citizens?
Sparta was ruled by two hereditary kings from separate families. The kings' power was limited by a 28 member council of elders. Athens was a direct democracy meaning all of the Athenian citizens could vote on legislation.
Sparta had a limited democracy, where the citizens had motions put before them by the Council for decisions but could not raise motions themselves.
Foreigners were not allowed to vote in ancient Athens.
Only Men could vote because they had experience with military
The Spartan government operated very differently than the Athenian government. Unlike Athens's democracy, in which every citizen had a vote, Sparta had an oligarchic government (a government ruled by a few people). Also the assembly could only vote on yes-or-no laws, but could not debate issues.
im pretty sure Sparta did but i don't know about Athens i know people in Athens could vote but i remember looking it up and Athens did still have kings take it from me the ATHENS GEEK!
Practically every civilization at that time (and until the early 20th century) had the rule that only men could vote. In Sparta, voting in most cases concerned military matters, so that made it in a sense logical. Sparta's women however enjoyed a level of equality with men in all other aspects that was unique among antique civilizations. So although they did not formally have the vote, it is highly probable that they discussed the issues of the day with their husbands and influenced the way they voted.

In Sparta the citizens in the assembly could vote, but not address the assembly. In Athens any citizen theoretically could speak, but the rostrum was dominated by accomplished orators who could hold the attention of the citizens.
Women and slaves were treated unfairly because they were not allowed to be citizens, vote, and did not have any rights.there were no slaves in Sparta, and the women were treated with dignity.
