yes and no. before The Beatles john had a band called the Quarrymen, with other people. then Paul joined that and after him George. Ringo was the only official one to join a the band when it was named The Beatles. paul wasn't the second one to join the quarrymen either, but he was the second beatle to join the quarrymen.
