Yes it is but you don't develop arthiritis. That is a very famous myth that people used and believed was true. When you are cracking your knuckles, your not actually 'cracking' them. The noise you here is the bubbles in the liquid surrounding the bones pop. However, you can develop other things, which im not very sure about atm. I don't want to give any false information so I will just leave it at that and edit it when I'm sure.

No. The cracking is usually explained as gas bubbles being created due to a vacuum affect from the expansion of the fluid inside the joint capsule. That would not cause the bones in your fingers to grow more slanted.

There is no scientifct prof of this, people belive this because when cracked the knuckes grow and get big. But this is just your nitrogen bubbles poping and then your fingers react and go swollen. Cracking you knuckles does no harm but it is still not a googd habbit to start. I know this because my grandad is a specilist on this topic and he has been studing all his life!
