Most of the time a quick jerk of the steering wheel either to the left or right helps. Another thought, try to step on the brake. To release the turn on my car I have to press the break peddle to get it to move.
You might need to get your tires balanced, or you may need some front end work done. Getting your tires balanced is the less expensive of the two though so I would try that first.
I have the same problem on my Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 1995. Seems to be a problem in Map sensor. I was also told it might be the ECU

get a fuel pressure guage, check for fuel pressure and if you are getting fuel to your injector(s) then check for spark at the plugs.
hi, your problem is more than likely your air mass sensor, its a common problem on merceds.it takes about 2 minutes to fit and car should run great again.hope that helps you...dougieb

It seems that with the 4.0 V6, 20 mpg highway is typical. My '92 has a ton and a half of miles on it, but with good driving techniques and avoiding the petal-to-the-metal, I am getting close to 20 mpg. Now if I could double that, I'd be a happy man!

It seems that walking on a tile floor makes more of a pounding noise and kind of shakes the floor. More so than hard wood or carpet. At least that is my experience.
