No
From personal experience, I would say no. I have RA and I had to have a ton of blood work and none of the times did I have to fast first. That being said, I would check with your Doctor Who ordered the labs to be sure, because new tests develop and the requirements for different tests may vary.
I am in the same boat and have never been requested to fast before having tests.
No, you dont have to fast before a RF test.
Yes you can have RA with an Rf of 20. When a doctor sees the symptoms of RA they automatically check for RF because it is a good indicator that that is the problem when taking the symptoms into account , However you don't need any RF at all to be suffering from RA. When this happens it is described as "seronegative rheumatoid arthritis".An RF of more than 23 units and a titer over than 1:80 can indicate rheumatoid arthritis but may also occur in other conditions.A negative test result for rheumatoid factor does notnecesarily exclude the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.
s you are having a flare that involves more then the usual few joints. Rheumatoid arthritis can suddenly effect many joints at the same time requiring fast action to stop the damage it does.
No. it is not necessary to fast before an ESR (erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate) test
before they wear down to Metal to Metal contact...the time period varies depending on how fast you stop, and how loaded the vehicle is... also, Everyone should have a manual, and the library should have a professional shop manual available for copies in the reference section (FOR FREE)...read up and fix 'em like the pro's...! :) Dave
So the food doesn't affect your blood in any way (it can raise or lower your normal blood sugar levels).
No that is not necessary. unless you are advised to do so by your doctor which may be likely in the case of tests related to gouty arthritis.

People should consult a medical practitioner before beginning a fast or Gerson therapy. The medical professional can determine whether it's safe to fast and how long the fast should last.

You should check with your Doctors office to see if you should fast before this test. Each test is different and it is better to be safe than sorry.
