Pablo Picasso was born on October 25th, 1881 in the city of Malaga in the Andalusian region on Spain to the parents of Jose` Ruiz Blasco and Maria`Picasso Lopez[however took his mother madien name]He eventually moved to France where he died on April 8th, 1973, in Notre-dame-de vie in Mougin at age 91. However he was buried 170 kilometers from this site, also in Mougin. Before his death Picasso worked in France as a director of the Prado Gallery in Madrid, until World War 2 struck. Most of the medium used by Picasso consisted of oil based paints, illustration of "classical texts", ceramics, lithography, engravings, he also incorporated newsprint, postage stamp, and geometric figures in his work. He received an award in the school of fine arts in Barcelona, a gold medal from Malaga exibition, carnegie prize, silver medal from France, the lenin peace prize from the Soviet Union and more.
