The Articles of Confederation were written to reduce a strong central government seizing power and creating a tyrannical situation in the newly created United States. The former colonists distrusted powerful government, and the Articles were written to spread governmental power into the individual states as much as possible.

What were the events that linked the Boston massacre at the Boston tea party?

They weren't linked. The only thing is they both happened in Boston and were years apart. The Boston Massacre was spun by Paul Revere in hand bills to create distrust between the colonies and the British. The events we think we know for the massacre and the tea party are NOT what really happened. Watch the history channel program on the Boston Massacre in the series unknown history.

Was the show Rugrats really designed to entertain pedophiles?

Of course not. What reason would Nickelodeon have for designing a cartoon for pedophiles? Would it not make far more sense for a childrens network to design a show to entertain children? Who's the bigger market, millions of children around the world, or a couple of pedophiles? You could take almost anything, any book, cartoon, video game or suchlike, and pervert an interpretation to make an argument for it's pedophilic orientation. Which is not to say that there aren't a couple of adults out there who perhaps take a perverse pleasure in watching shows such as Rugrats. I think to brand Rugrats a pedophile oriented show is to fuel a culture of fear where we get into a sort of frenzy about things like pedophilia. Will it really help children in the long run to be taught to fear and distrust the adults around them? I think it's absurd to think of the creators of Rugrats, sitting in a dark room somewhere, trying to think of hidden ways to make sure child molesters get their jollies.

Why does the Tea Party hate Muslims?

Answer 1The question starts with an assumption that may not be correct. Possibly the questioner has picked up on some comment he perceives to be "un-Islamic" and has extrapolated it to a policy. Actually, the majority of Muslims in the United States tend to be Republicans and some fraction thereof, Tea Partiers. The hyper-conservative attitude of the Tea Party probably aligns well with the Muslim distrust of secularism and certainly with the liberal championing of women's rights, homosexuals and free speech. The Tea Party (and Republicans in general) do irritate Muslims by an irrational support of their hated enemy, Israel. [ "Irrational" in this sense does not mean "wrong," merely based on something other than practical politics.]Answer 2While US Muslims used to be largely Republican (78% voted Republican in 2000), the increasing anti-Islamic views of the American Right-Wing have created a complete reversal. In 2010, 70% of American Muslims voted Democrat and currently only 11% lean Republican. The Tea Party has as its primary goal the return to the United States as it was in their perception of the 1950s. It was a time where the "government" did not "control everything" and when immigrants from outside of Europe were rare and when Christianity was the dominant US religion. As a result, anti-Islamic feeling is a natural part of this ethos. In this way, Muslim values are considered "Un-American", regardless of whether or not most American Muslims believe that their views are compatible with American values. Additionally, many Tea Partiers do not see a difference between Radical, Fundamentalist, or Salafist Islam and Conservative Islam on the other. They see all Muslims as a unity that is invading the US as a set of sleeper cells for a Muslim takeover of the United States. While they are not clear on the method of this or what negative results would actually occur if Muslims did achieve this power (which is not even something that they are even trying to do), they are "sure" that is bad.

Characteristics of romantic period?

The most important aspect of the period of Romanticism was an emphasis on feelings. Some art reflected this mysticism that completely abandoned classic art form. Originality was an absolute requirement of this style of art. A belief and love of nature was another key component. There was a distrust of the human world and the world of nature was trusted and considered more pure. Landscapes that evolved into wilder Gothic themes of nature were popular Romantic themes.

In the 1780s many Americans distrusted a strong central government This distrust is best shown by the?

The distrust of a strong central government is best shown by the strength of the Anti-Federalists, who opposed the new constitution of 1787, and strong central government in general. Having just fought a long, bitter and bloody war to rid themselves of one tyrrany, the Anti-Federalists thought it was insane to voluntarily create a new tyrrany and fasten it upon themselves. Incidentally, every evil the Anti-Federalists anticipated would come to pass from a strong central government has indeed become reality, and been far exceeded. So, they were correct in their apprehensions of where such ideas would lead.
