I have a leaflet about Joan Madge which came with the oil painting we bought back in the early 70s. This lists 31 of her paintings that were on sale at The Joan Madge Studio, 25 Queen Street, Bude, Cornwall. The price list is in guineas with a range of 3 - 20 guineas! This is a copy of the biographical notes: "Joan Madge (Mrs J Winlove-Smith of Crooklets, Bude) has painted for a number of years, following an art training in Sussex, Plymouth School of Art and the Central Schoolof Art (London). Her work became known when her painting "Homage", depicting the Lying-in-State of the late Sir Winston Churchill, was purchased by His Grace the Duke of Marlborough. This painting now hangs in the birthroom of the late Sir Winston Churchill at Blenheim Palace. As the artist has just returned from a painting session in Greece, there are several studies of Greek Islands; the Aegean Sea and Athens, as well as the more familiar landscapes and sea-scapes of Cornwall and Devon." I regret I don't have any idea of the value of her paintings.
