Rennaisance Art is loosely defined in Europe from 1450 to 1600. A Rennaisance trefers to a man who is talented and excels beyond the norm in several areas(math , science, writing, language , music for instance, but it means more than just talented but being among the best. )Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo are the most well known examples 9see Wikipedia on Rennaisance, where many polymaths are listed. The 19th Century would be considered, Modernist Times. (There are numerous people(not necessarily geniuses from other areas, that could be considered as Rennaisance Men and many lived prior to 1400. But The Art Period is from 1450 to 1600.When the focus was on man and education. The group of artists really began with Massacio Ghiberti and Uccello. Uccello painted in the old flat style, until he brought in a famous mathmatician to help him, from his studies the paintings he brought in perspective(deep space) on a two dimensional surface. DaVinci was so impressed he , and then many others followed suit. (read Giorgio Vasari's "The lives of Artists" which was written after this, but encompasses from Uccello to well beyond DaVinci's time.(DaVinci Was a painter, draftsman, writer, mathematician, sculptor,he invented machines , some used in warfare, some, like his flying machine, predicts the airplane long before the Wright Bros.He also disected human cadavers drawing the parts of the body, which was helpful for medicine). There are many books on DaVinci about his work. Vasari, was an artist and a writer. His book is still popular today as it explains in depth the many achievements of these artists(Uccello was good at Sculpture, Painting, drawing, designing stained glass, among other things). Trade was a huge part of the renaissance because it was the only way they made money and without money nothing could be done.
Yes because he was not only a painter he also was an engineer and also was a doctor because he dissected human parts such as a heart
They were important because there were NO cameras back then. Could you imagine not having one single picture of you in your entire house?! :\ Unfortunately, mostly only wealthy people could afford portraits made for themselves.

The artist's name was Norman Henry French, hence the inscription 'NF'. I have never seen him listed as such however and I only know what I know following exhaustive reserch. He was born in 1908 and was not a 19th century artist as suggested. I belive he was born in the UK but died in the US. He painted predominantly townscapes of Venice and Holland in the style of the Italian and Dutch masters of the 17th and 18th century.

Very few people born in the 19th century lived to see the 21st century. The last known person born in the 19th century was Jeanne Calment, who passed away in 1997 at the age of 122. Given that the 19th century ended in 1900, it is estimated that only a handful of individuals, if any, reached the age of 100 to see the new millennium.
The US never issued a $3 bill. The only $3 denomination was a coin made in the mid-19th century.
