Best way to diagnose is to scan for codes, but not having that I would guess the ignition module then the crank/cam sensor.
Maybe coil pack is bad
If it is the original fuel pump then it is probably telling you it is about to quit. have you changed the fuel filter lately?
If the 93 Stealth came with a crank sensor but it does not have one now, then it will not start. The sensor shows the ignition coil when to send power to the spark plugs.
After sitting so long, you could have a bad battery, bad plugs, a bad fuse, bad gas, sludge in the carburetor if there is one, clogged injectors. These places are a where to start.
It should try to start at least. It may or may not actually start but you should hear it fire on the 2 good plugs. Why not just replace all 4 spark plugs?
Obviously- the spark plugs were not the issue :)
check the spark plugs. may not be catching fire.
No, a Dodge Avenger will run without oil pressure.
I have a brand new parts on a 1996 dodge avenger i just put a brand new crank sensor why won't it start rite up and also it turns over but wont fire will new spark plugs work. The first steps are to check for codes, and check fuel pressure.
Fuel pump is bad.
Electrical issue, computer issue, engine mechanical issue, no fuel in tank, no spark to spark plugs, dead battery, etc
I received these error codes for my 1998 Dodge Avenger, 6cyl. 2.5 What does these codes mean? Where would I start to fix these issues? ~THANK YOU ~ P0108 P1297 P0401
The dealership would be a good place to start.
yes it does, every car has spark plugs or it wouldn't start.
More info is needed. Could be a number of things. Battery, Starter, etc.
You will have to remove the Intake Plenum and disconnect all sensors and vaccuum lines. I did this not too long ago and 3 of the plugs are under it at the back so there's no way to avoid it. Make sure you get a plenum gasket beofre you start because you will need a new one.
may just be a transmission sensor - $20 part - start there...
if you've never done it. start to finish could be a long time. ik dodge pays 16hrs on that job so expect more if your not a dodge mecanich
