  1. Glaciers and ice caps may melt causing flooding of many countries.
  2. The extra heat in the oceans and atmosphere is energy. This energy puts more rain into the atmosphere (causing flooding) and adds strength to storms and winds.
  3. Habitats and food chains may be endangered. In many places warming lands may not be able to grow crops and pasture, meaning human and other animal species have to move, adapt or die.
  4. Loss of mountain glaciers will mean there is no water supply for the great rivers of Asia that support millions of people.

Why are carbon dioxide and water vapor levels in the atmosphere important?

Without carbon dioxide in the air, trees could not grow. Without water vapor in the air to create rain, nothing could grow. Until the Global Warming Theory displaced the Global Cooling Theory as the sun entered a warming phase of its complex solar cycle, nobody worried much about CO2 levels. Farmers and weather forecasters have always worried about moisture in the atmosphere. Since Global Warming devotees have taken over political control, and the media wishes to whip up anxiety so people will more pay attention to them, everybody now worries about these components which are related to the so called Greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are said to trap incoming solar energy so less of it radiates back into space, gradually warming the earth. Political (politicized) bodies such as the IPCC deny that anything other than human activity causes global warming and therefore demand that humans stop contributing to the production of CO2. Solar activity is not important! The problem with this theory is that 1) human processes contribute much less CO2 and H20 than do natural processes and 2) that natural processes such as melting permafrost and warming oceans caused by the solar bake cycle, release such huge quantities of these gases as to make any human component meaningless. Something like Icelanders refusing to have babies in order to stop global overpopulation. The problem with believing this theory is that humans will divert their attention from addressing very real problems caused by global warming such as rising oceans. The appropriate response to this is to move human populations out of harms way. Instead, humans seem bent on crippling the economies they will depend on to accomplish such a gargantuan task by enslaving combustion processes at the heart of all our technological servants (ferries, factories, fridges) to carbon sequestration schemes. We should reflect on the fact that humans once cultivated corn on Greenland and may do so again without it being a cause of the end of the world or of humanity. Enjoy the trees and the rain and those components of the atmosphere that make it all happen.

Why should pollution stop?

Pollution should stop because if it doesn't, the world could be in great danger by pollution using up all the air and we would'nt be able to breath. If we stop now, the world would be a much better place.

Could tornadoes cause global warming?

No. While global warming might affect tornado activity, tornadoes themselves are an end product of weather and climatic activity, not a cause.

Does global warming affect you?

It gets a lot of people hot under the collar. At some point the warming of the planet may become warmer then during the medieval warming period. This would cause sea levels to rise and weather patterns changes around the world. If this ever happens, yes global warming could someday affect you.

How could global warming affect the winds on earth?

Global warming COULD change wind patterns completely. It COULD also have little or no effect. No one, absolutely no one, is completely sure what will happen. Various computer models have been made, most of which do not agree.

How does the destruction of the ozone layer and global warming affect humanlife .?

Ultimately it could mean the end of all life on earth

What could increase average global temperatures?

Global warming. Possibly pollution such as gas in a car.

How would glaciers be affected by changes in climate such as global warming and global cooling?

In global warming, the glaciers would melt, then they would flow into the ocean, then they could affect ocean currents, changing the climate, in some areas. And with global cooling, there would be more glaciers, depleting the ocean waters.

Does recycling paper reduce global warming?

i know that recycling paper could reduce pollution not global warming but the important thing is that it could save the planet

How could people cause global warming?

People cause global warming by deforestation, release waste gases (CO2) and pollution.

How can water pollution interact with global warming?

Water pollution could be said to add to global warming by the means it takes to clean the water. This then causes the emissions of greenhouse gases that increase global warming.

What percent of the Earth would we save if we stopped Global Warming now?

If we stopped Global Warming right now, we could save the Earth by %

Does the polluted ocean affect the polar bears?

No. The claim is that if global warming occurs it could someday hurt the polar bear. This is an unfounded claim at present.
