n floor requires slightly more maintenance than a lacquered floor, but not on the level of the old-fashioned knee and backbreaking wax floor, the modern maintenance products have taken care of that.

And on the other hand: wet shoe prints (think rain, Autumn, incoming traffic in hallways) don't show up immediately, like it does on a varnished or lacquered floor.

The only disadvantages of oils that i myself think is that of course they take much longer to dry, if i should want to do a painting quicker i choose acrylic's instead as they dry quicker plus you use water to thin, mix & clean up, on oil's using turpentine & some other liquids can be really strong & overpowering, If a person does not use proper ventilation, some thinner's have health warnings, But Now days you can buy the newer oils that actually do thin & clean up with water, I have only used oil's that are usable with water One time, I have not experienced using it enough to make a good judgement on them, i am just now getting back to painting again & plan to try them again one day.
