You know that mixing blue and yellow will make green. Since all blues and yellows are not the same, I tend to use specific colors like cobalt blue and hansa yellow(closest to real yellow) to make the green and then more blue or more yellow to it to get the green I want.
Using a cadmium yellow, which tends to have a small amount of red in it will result in a slightly darker, brownish green.

If you want to make your jungle interesting, you want to have a varieties of greens. Adding naphthol red (closest to real red) to the green mix will darken it.
