Nothing should happen at all if it just slips. If it comes off it could possibly bend some of the fins but it is unlikely since there is a fan and shroud in the way.
Put the serpentine belt around the pulleys on your 2001 Chrysler LHS. Tighten the serpentine belt by pushing the tensioner pulley to the left. Tighten down the tensioner pulley and the serpentine belt will be tight.
Remove the serpentine belt. Drain the water from the radiator. Remove the radiator hose from the water pump. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new water pump.
when serpentine belt comes off, you will loose power steering, the alternator will stop charging the battery and the water pump will stop circulating coolant so you will have a flat battery in an overheated engine and very little steering capability
If it has a serpentine belt it should have an automatic belt tensioner If it doesn't have a serpentine belt then alternator should be the adjustment/pivot point
yes the serpentine belt will be hot after running engine
you have to take that bottom radiator hose off to replace it
My 1992 Olds Delta 88 has the serpentine belt diagram on the top of the radiator
Is there not a serpentine belt diagram at the front of the engine compartment , in front of the radiator ( there is on my Ford EXPLORER )
The serpentine belt goes around all of your pullies in the front of your motor, behind the radiator.
It will squeak
You should have a belt routing diagram sticker on top of the radiator shroud. I've also included a video that shows right where this sticker is and how to replace the serpentine belt on your truck.
It has been a awhile and I had the dealership do it. I belive that they had to remove the radiator.
There should be a diagram on the underside of the hood or on the radiator.
A damaged radiator fan belt, or serpentine belt, shows signs of fraying, cracking, ribbing, and cording. Screeching or squealing sounds may also emit from the engine area, which indicates a need of immediate replacement or the belt may snap.
There should be a decal under the hood right by the radiator that gives the correct routing for your serpentine belt.
when serpentine belt breaks alternator and water pump stop working along with power steering pump
Drive belt? the serpentine belt? if that's what your talking about check the grooves in the underside of the belt if good check your tensioner to make sure it has enough strength to keep the belt tight
