While the make and model of your vehicle are likely to influence the answer you get, the most likely cause is a damaged or loose coolant hose or gasket (likely one of the heater hoses from the location of the leak). If you don't want to spend the money to take the car into a shop, with a minimal amount of research it is usually easy to find what part(s) are responsible for leaks. Every car is prone to certain leaks and more often then not someone has had the exact same problem.
Probably difficult to see but it has one, it's behind the lower portion of the water pump pulley. If you have coolant dripping out from behind the water pump pulley, it is coming out the weep hole, the seal is shot and probably the bearing also. Time for water pump replacement, don't wait.

The coolant filler cap can be located in two places....depending the model of vehicle. On late model cars, it's located usually on the left or right side of vehicle in the engine compartment. Usually its a clear plastic tank with hot or cold markings on it. And the top of tank has a cap on it usually with the word coolant on it. On older cars, its located on top of the radiator which is in front of the engine. Normally located on the left side of radiator. It will usually be made out of a hard plastic or metal with the words caution..underpressure...or coolant, etc.
