i have a rover 75, 1.8. it has about 26,000 miles on clock. when does my timing belt need changing
It will cost you $0.00, due to the fact that a Ford F-150 does not have a timing belt, it has a chain that requires no maintenance.
if you haven't removed the belt get a very sharp Stanley knife cut off half of the belt length wise fit new belt partially then removed the rest of old belt and ease the new one fully on then it doesn't matter what you're timing marks are if you have removed the belt though it depends whether it's 8 or 16 valve let me know
Simple answer is yes. The water pump is driven by the timing belt. P.S if you are not sure on how to do this job then pay a reputable workshop. You can bend cylinder head valves if you replace the timing belt incorrectly and then you are talking thousands to repair your car! Steve:-)
The water pump runs on the timing belt. You have to take the timing cover off, remove the belt and then remove the water pump. If you reuse the timing belt, mark the belt with a spot of paint at the camshaft and crankshaft so that you can replace it and have the engine in time. If you need to replace the belt, make sure the engine is at top dead center on the timing mark before you remove the belt.
100,000 miles
Could be,Failure to replace belt at recommended interval. Idler pulleys or bearings going bad. Faulty belt tensioner. Replacement belt not installed correctly. Inferior replacement belt/parts installed.
The engine in the Mercury Villager does not use a timing chain, it uses a timing belt. The recommended belt replacement interval is 105,000 miles.
Recommended interval on 1995-1999 Neons is 60,000 miles.
I have no listing for a Land Rover Range Rover. Are you sure it has a timing belt an does not have a chain?
You don't Replace the timing belt at the recommended interval. If the engine is apart for other service any measurable wear requires replacement
It is a mileage interval, not an inspection. If you have 100,000 miles then replace it.It is a mileage interval, not an inspection. If you have 100,000 miles then replace it.
To my knowledge the Nissan Quest does not use a timing chain, it uses a timing belt, with a replacement interval of 105,000 miles.
how often do i have to change the timing belt on my rover400
It has a chain. Replace when it breaks, no maintenance interval like a belt.
You cannot tell by looking at a cam belt if it is good or bad. That is why you replace them at a set interval. Your owners manual will list when to replace it.
