Any tattoo can be a "coming of age" tattoo. Various cultures have specific tattoos that signify an important step in the "coming of age" process, but with the modern acceptance of tattoos comes a personalization that was not as common in times past. I came across your post while I was trying to find a tattoo with similar meaning that was specific to my ethnic heritage, but I believe that the meaning of a tattoo is only given by the person wearing it, in spite of the historical, or even religious, significance. As long as you find a symbol that speaks to you on a personal level, you can never have a stupid tattoo.
Best of luck and congratulations for reaching such a milestone

To go into a tattoo parlour depends on the policies of the company who own it. However to have a tattoo depends on the laws of your country. In the majority of the western world, the minimum age to have a tattoo is 18. Which is the age that you are legally responsible for yourself.
in soviet russia there is no age limit
In the UK the law is very clear, 18 is the minimum age for a tattoo. With or without parental consent. (in other words even with the consent of your parents, the minimum age is still 18.)

Being legally able to get a tattoo is a function of coming of age! Symbols depend on what culture you want to reference. I knew an African woman who had a key tattooed on her arm as part of her coming of age (though this references the British tradition that when you come of age you get 'the key of the door'). What symbols appeal to you? Choose one that you can live with.
there is not a legal age to get a tattoo but need parental consent if you are a minor
It means that you are terrible about coming up with a good idea for a tattoo.
It means that you have a tattoo of an eye with a teardrop...
i just got a tattoo a day ago and i was told to use Aquaphor on my tattoo while it was healing and it seems to be doing the trick but you will notice a little bit of ink coming out of your tattoo but i hear that this is normal.
In burlington vermont you can go and get a tattoo at any age
You can only get a tattoo under the age of 18 if you have proof of parental consent.
In Gran Canaria, the legal age to get a tattoo is 18 years old. This is in line with the age requirement for getting a tattoo in most parts of Spain. It is important for tattoo artists to verify the age of their clients before proceeding with the tattoo to ensure compliance with the law and ethical standards. Failure to adhere to the legal age requirement can result in legal consequences for both the tattoo artist and the individual seeking the tattoo.
