Dektol is the patented trade name of a single-powder cold-tone black and white paper developer from Eastman Kodak. It is one of the oldest and most flexible black and white paper developers made, and so far as I know is still manufactured by Kodak in an envelope of dry powder to make one gallon of concentrated liquid developer, which is then diluted to a working solution by mixing one part of concentrate with two parts of water (1:2). Dektol is primarily for use with cold or neutral tone papers. It will work well with multigrade papers. It is not formulated for warm tone papers although it will develop them, but not to their warmest tones.
