What is in your pencil case?

With me at all times, I carry a pencil case with basic art supplies and a sketch pad with me any time I leave the house... I've been doing this for a very long time and recommend the practice to anyone who wants to be an artist.

I have been an artist for more years than I care to count and my pencil case has a number of things you might not expect in it.

I have a full range of pencils for drawing: 6B, 4B, 2B, HB, 2H, & 4H to make it easier to get good sketches when I am out traveling around.

A hard white eraser; a gum or kneaded eraser and an eraser that looks like a pencil (you peel the outside cover off as you wear off the eraser part) which is wonderful for getting into small places.

An erasing shield;a pencil sharpener (in a tin to hold the shavings) and three or four blending stumps.

A set of 12 watercolour pencils, just in case I want to do a colour sketch; two different sized brushes with water reservoirs in their handles, to use with the watercolour pencils.

A magnifying glass to check the details, and a pair of polarized sunglasses. If you are sketching out of doors, often the sun will reflect off of smooth surfaces and obscure the lines of the object. The polarization reduces the glare so you can accurately render the object in your sketch.

I also carry moist towelettes to clean my hands (sketching is messy work), and a couple of granola bars because I often get too busy sketching to bother to go eat.

Pencils are made out of wood, and there are a long thin cylinder of led in the middle, it is pointy on the top and flat on the bottom. Mainly, pencils shape is a hexagon.
