Talavera pottery is a type of majolica earthenware (Red Body Ceramic with Glaze) of a distinct creamy- white glazed decoration produced only in the State of Puebla in Mexico. Talavera Poblana is the oldest tin-glazed ceramic in America and it is still being manufactured with the same techniques as in the 16th Century.

The ornate patterns are immediately reminiscent of the hacienda ranch look it is unlike the Terre Cotta tiles normally associated with Mexico in that it has a glaze, an ornate artwork and is fired to make it Ceramic.

Authentic Talavera pottery is the ceramic ware produced by certified workshops in the state of Puebla Mexico following the traditional Talavera process introduced by the Spaniards in the 16th Century.
