For a small apartment or studio in Portland, Oregon you will be looking at a low of about $350 in the outside areas to upwards of $800 in the heart of the city. Of course, there are your exceptionally fancy studio lofts in the Pearl type areas that will run even more! A fantastic one bedroom with views of Mt Hood or downtown Portland at Buckman Terrace (16th & NE Sandy) will run you about $900 but keeps you close to everything. Again, if you're looking for swanky you can definitely get yourself into a fancy apartment downtown... but you're looking at at least $1500+. The Sylvan Heights area has quite a few places that are quite nice in the $1300 range. You'll get your money's worth there, in an almost new place, but you're going to have to fight that Hwy 26 traffic during rush hour!
