There are four valves in the human heart. They are the:

1. Tricuspid valve

2. Pulmonary valve

3. Mitral valve ( also known as bicuspid valve)

4. Aortic valve

There are two valves in your heart. Between the Rightatrium and ventricle there lies an AV-valve (A=atrium) (V=ventricle) hence the name AV-valve. It's also called like tricuspid valve... but i learned it the AV-valve.

K so that's one valve. The function is to help blood flow smoothly from the atria's to the ventricles and stop the back flow of blood.

There is another valve between the Left atrium and ventricle called Semi-lunar valve

because apparently some scientist thought the valves look like "semi-lunar" moons.

Anyway, it can also be call the Bicuspid valve. But Semi-lunar valve is the way i learned it.

The function is the same, as any other valves in our body.

The only valves are in veins and our heart.

The most important valve in the heart is Left Atrioventricular Valve. AKA: bicuspid valve (since it has two triangular cusps), or Mitral valve.
