okay first off the cafe is one of the buildings that appers in the starry night painting. It is also the building that he lived in upstairs. the pool table painting is the inside of the cafe where van gogh painted himself passed at one of the tables. his brother theo is sitting at one of the tables in front of the cafe.

I have no idea what that previous answer was all about. I assume you mean "Cafe Terrace at Night in Arles?" I believe it is a rendition of The Last Supper. The central figure is "serving" the 12 diners around him (including the one in the shadow of the door on the left...ie Judas). Furthermore, there is the form of a crucifix in the window behind the Christ figure.

Cafe Terrace at Night is Van Gogh's first attempt to paint the starry night sky. What's interesting is that even though it's a night painting with a dark sky there was no black used in it.

See the related link for an interesting post about it.
