Plants use photosynthesis to produce glucose (the 'food' that they use)
Plants store food for energy.
In the food chain, plants are producers ( because they make oxygen thru the process of photosynthesis.)
food
All plants make their own food from light.
Food chains start with green plants because only green plants are able to convert the suns energy into sugars that all creatures including plant need to grow.
One key character that distinguishes fungi from plants is their method of obtaining nutrients. Fungi are heterotrophic, meaning they cannot produce their own food and must obtain nutrients from other sources, while plants are autotrophic and can photosynthesize to create their own food.
They forage, walk around and search for edible plants.
Systems for obtaining food (that is not produced internally by the organism as happens in plants).
Different animals have different ways of obtaining food. Carnivores hunt for their prey, herbivores eat plants, and omnivores both hunt and eat plants/vegetation.
slap them They graze on plants like grass, hence the name grasshopper, they hop around in the grass eating plants.
Some problems with obtaining food this way is they didn't have enough fertile to grow there crops, there baby's didn't have enough food to eat,and there is no mare animals to hunt for so they need help.
Plants absorb sunlight through photosynthesis to produce food. When we consume burgers and chips made from plants, we are indirectly obtaining the sun's energy stored in the plants. This energy is then transferred to us through the food chain as we digest and metabolize the food.
green plants are the organisms in the environment capable of producing their own food

Depends on which animal and which plant you are comparing. All animals actually eat/consume their food. Plants like the Venus Fly Trap do that to. But, most plants use photosynthisis and absorb water.
The scientific method... Assuming they still call it that.
Green plants have chlorophyll, a pigment that allows them to undergo photosynthesis and convert sunlight into energy. Other plants may lack chlorophyll or have different methods of obtaining nutrients, making them unable to produce food through photosynthesis.
