I don't know anything about it but I have this painting also. It was my grandmothers. She is dead and no one in the family knows anything of the history. Anyone out there know anything of it??

I also have posted this question. My mother said it was her grandmothers. It has "Goddess of Liberty" on the bottom right hand side. It is painted on oval glass and framed. I found it in my parent's barn. A little worn from the barn atmosphere though but, in fairly good shape. It has the American flag flying in reverse in the background along with the New York skyline. Hope we find some answers!

(In coin talk, the fact that the word LIBERTY is on the coin doesn't ID it because nearly ALL US coins have the word. It's the portrait or designer that counts.)

It's not a mistake. All Peace dollars have the same design. It's common on many coins to allow the portrait to be a bit larger. Kennedy halves have a similar overlap between the portrait and the word LIBERTY.
