Students for a Democratic Society was largely focused on changing the country's Cold War policy at its beginnings. While this goal never ended during the organization's first incarnation, by 1964 they were starting to become concerned with protesting the war in Southeast Asia (later known as the Vietnam War).
Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) were an organization of students and other young people from the early 1960s until 1969. SDS organized protests in favor of equal rights, crime prevention, anti-poverty movements, etc. After about 1965, SDS began to focus less on Black rights and more on anti-war activities. The Berkeley Free Speech Movement is generally associated with SDS. SDS had an extremely radical element that was sometimes blamed for domestic terrorism but the accuracy of these claims is uncertain. The organization disbanded in 1969 but some youth continued to identify with it. The name Students for a Democratic Society has been re-used in recent years by an unrelated organization.
By 1964, the SDS had a strong focus on the Civil Rights Movement and the free speech movement on American campuses. In 1965, when the US became involved militarily in the Vietnam war, the SDS became very active in protesting US involvement.
National Democratic Focus was created in 2006.
Racial equality is what the SDS was involved in during the 1964 year.

No, essentialists focus on teaching students key knowledge and skills to prepare them for the workforce and society as it is currently structured. They prioritize traditional academic subjects and core skills over societal reconstruction.
A communist is where the government controls everything. They decide how much people get paid and there are no privately owned businesses. A democratic society is like the one we have in North America. Everybody gets a say in everything happens in their country and the government is not in charge of everything.
