The legend of King Arthur may have been based on a British captain named Arthur, who fought against the invading Saxons at Mt. Badon (Dorsetshire) around 500 AD. The Saxons eventually killed or enslaved the native Britons.
There are many legends, all differing from each other. Though there is no real proof King Arthur ever even lived, some believe Sir Lancelot or one of the other knights of The Round Table took over. Other legends, and there is some historical proof, that the Anglo-Saxons took over Britain. However, there is no proof whether or not there was any King between the legendary, King Arthur, and the Saxons.
No. The legendary King Arthur who sometimes holds court at Camelot was the son of Uther Pendragon and is never called a Tudor. There were some other minor King Arthur in Britain several years later, but no one important. As being of Welsh descent and descended from nobility, the Tudors claimed to be heirs of Arthur. This is sometimes misrepresented as a claim that they were descendants of Arthur. However no-one, to my knowledge, as yet substantiated this second claim either from a reputable source or by providing a genealogy that would show how the Tudors were descended from Arthur.
Although the issue is sharply debated, the timing of the events of the Legend of Arthur place it in the late 5th to the early 6th century. The Battle of Camlann is dated 537-539 AD. This is the battle in which both Arthur and Mordred, his son by Morgan Le Fay, were killed.
