Rule of thirds?

Divide the page into 3 horizontal sections. Background;

- right in the distance, everything is very faint and such. Midground;

- not right in front of you, not in the distance either, in between. Foreground;

- right up close, as if you were standing right behind what ever object it is. I'd imagine good shading over the piece would help alot aswell.

How did perspective influence renaissance artists?

Perspective allowed the artists to create images that looked real. Artists were able to construct an image that appeared to have depth, meaning that is it did like look flat on the canvas. The technique of making objects in the background smaller than the objects in the foreground generates a realistic, lifelike look within the painting. This led to the beginning and growth of realistic artwork during the Renaissance.

Which is the primary principle behind the technique of linear perspective?

Why did the artists make some figures smaller or larger than others in their paintings?

Sometimes this is to show distance between the two objects. Objects in the background are smaller than the objects in the foreground. The reason could also be symbolic. The artist may have wanted to show the larger object's power over the smaller object. The size could also symbolize the level of importance of the objects.

What are the smallest objects in our solar system?

The smallest objects in quantum physics are "strings" which are 10^-35m in size which is comparable to the Plank length. At this size nothing is flat, measureable or quantifiable. Nothing can be measured smaller than this by any technique currently in use OR will ever be invented in the future... unless a new form of maths and physics is invented which alters our current perception of the very small...

Why are small objects easier to measure than larger objects?
