A conic projection has a high degree of accuracy for limited areas, so are very good for the smaller areas lime road maps and weather maps.

Maps that are projected on a plane surface will exhibit distortions in distance, area and direction which might be neglible over a small area such as a town or city, but can be substantial over larger areas. Cartographers compensate for these distortions in a number of ways, but usually one type of distortion is sacrificed to create accuracy in another dimension. Globes do not exhibit these distortions, but nearly all globes are made perfectly spherical which, in itself, introduces a slight distortion since Earth is a bit flattened at the poles.
A geostationary satellite does not trace a path over the surface of the earth because that is what geostationary means - the satellite is stationary over a point on the Earth.
Originally it was thought that the earth's lithosphere (crust) was made of individual plates that are broken down into over a dozen large and small pieces of rock. These fragmented plates collided with, slid under or moved past adjacent plates. This is what shaped the earth's landscape.
Volcanoes do not occur randomly over Earth's surface. They occur along the located mark of plate boundaries.
A geostationary satellite is an earth-orbiting satellite, placed at an altitude of approximately 35,800 kilometers (22,300 miles) directly over the equator, that revolves in the same direction the earth rotates (west to east). A geosynchronous satellite is a satellite whose orbital track on the Earth repeats regularly over points on the Earth over time.
Weather occurs over a small area. Climate occurs over a whole region.
Hydraulic devices apply a small force over a small area to magnify the pressure delivered to the opposite end. This is vindicated by the formula Pressure = Force per unit Area.
The ozone layer is spread all over. It is over the whole earth.
A Cluster Area Network, also known as a Campus Area network or CAN, is a network comprised of a series of small LANs over a small Geographical area, such as a College Campus.

the earth recovers from a flood by growing over the area. usually the water washes away.

It depends on the depth of the water - whether it is spread over a huge area or concentrated over a small area.
local winds-are winds that blow over short distances caused by unequal heating of the earths surface in a small area. global winds-are winds that blow around the earth from the north pole to the south pole.
If the Liquid Nail is a small area, yes, but not if the entire tile surface is over it.
The United States covers about 7% of Earth's land area. Including all over Earth's surface area (land and water), the US covers about 2% of Earth's surface.
Asia is the biggest continent on Earth in terms of both land area and population. It covers around 30% of the Earth's land area and is home to over 60% of the world's population.
