What was Martin van Buren best remembered for?

Martin Van Buren is very rarely discussed of by his achievements, (which probably don't exist in his presidency, but afterwards) but rather his lacking of. His achievements are usually overlooked, you would have to go deep into "scripps" or extremely deep into the internet to find anything about Van Buren's achivements, which I've yet to do.

Martin Van Buren will be most remembered for the way he handled the Crisis of 1837. Andrew Jackson's economic policy wrecked the economy and sent it into one of the worst slumps it had ever seen. Van Buren's administration (being Democratic) kept the government from interfering with the failing economy, and therefore caused the American people to suffer through a longer recession than they should have.

He can also be remembered for the Aroostook War. A bloodless, undeclared war with Great Britain over the border between Maine and Canada that resulted in an agreement on an acceptable new border. This left both sides satisfied, but it strained the relationship between the two countries.
