What wishes did Artemis ask for?

A poem of Callimachus - the goddess "who amuses herself on mountains with Archery" - imagines some charming vignettes: at three years old, Artemis asked her father, Zeus, while sitting on his knee, to grant her six wishes. Her first wish was to remain chaste for eternity, and never to be confined by marriage. She then asked for lop-eared hounds, stags to lead her chariot, and nymphs to be her hunting companions, 60 from the river and 20 from the ocean. Also, she asked for a silver bow like her brother Apollo.

Zeus did not send Artemis to find her own gifts. When she was three, Zeus gave her these gifts:

1. To be a virgin forever.

2. A silver (or gold) bow and arrows forged by the cyclops.

3. To be dressed in a short tunic so her legs would be free to run.

4. All the mountains to be her domain.

5. A fleet of 60 nymphs to be her hunting companions.

6. A pack of hounds to hunt with.

to remain always a virgin; to have many names to set her apart from her brother Apollo; to be the Phaesporia or Light Bringer; to have a bow and arrow and a knee-length tunic so that she could hunt; to have sixty "daughters of Okeanos", all nine years of age, to be her choir; and for twenty Amnisides Nymphs as handmaidens to watch her dogs and bow while she rested. She wished for no city dedicated to her, but to rule the mountains, and for the ability to help women in the pains of childbirth
