It would have a sheen as opposed to being shiny.

That is up to you. The more gloss a paint has in it, the easier it is to clean and the more abuse it can take. For the most part, ceilings are only flat.
A gloss glaze is a glaze that potters tend to put over underglazes to give it a glossy finish. Gloss Glazes tend to look pink before fired but due to the chemical processing in the Kiln, dry clear.
It is basically what ever you prefer. In my opinion, semi-gloss can look cheap and a bit gaudy. I would go with the satin.

If you have children who tend to make a mess on walls, any indoor house paint that is a semi-gloss or gloss finish is good. Look for a paint that advertises itself as scrubbable.

I'm not sure but you can look on the ingredients on your lip gloss.
Some people have asked Questions like this before. But really there is some in some lip glosses. It does not matter much if you don't where lip gloss. And if you do where lip gloss, look on the back of the bottle or roll and see the ingredient's.
It most likely looked clumpy and was probably difficult to apply.

Satin finish will look very nice, but won't be as shiny as the semi-gloss. I would recommend the satin finish because it won't show scratches as much.
