When people die they go to heaven or hell but how are ghosts on the Earth then?

If you actually believe in ghost: Ghost stay behind becasue they are here to tend to some unfinished business or, they died a really horrible and unexpected death and their soul is stuck to this dimensional plane to look for the answer and their soul will not rest until they have come to terms with how they die, and what caused them to die. Now if ghost actually existed... that's the answer.

Why are there ghosts on earth?
There could be ghosts on earth not in a human form tho the energy traped inside our body could be released when we die and come out in the most simple form of a sphear. eventialy the shpear would detieriarate and the energy would have faded away. this is why people belive they see things called (orbs) floating around.

Well, im not sure if it's a painting, but have heard about it. The story goes that on one side(Hell) All these people were sitting around a big pot of delicouse soup, the best-tasting soup ever. The only way they could eat it was by using long, big ladles that they were holding. They wanted to eat the soup, yet they were starving. On the other side (heaven) More people were sitting around another pot of the same soup, with the exact same lades, but they were as happy as could be, and well-fed. They ate the soup whenever they were hungry, and enjoyed it. So, why was one group happy and the other starving. Because the people in the first group (hell) were selfish and focused only on helping themselves, and they couldn't feed themselves because the ladles were too big and long, wereas the people in the second group (heaven) had learned that the only way to eat the soup was to feed each other. I hoped this helped, and I hope I told it right! :)
