Dating back as far as 30,000 years ago early humans all over the world were decorating their caves with paints made from a mix of red and yellow ochre, hematite, manganese oxide and charcoal. Walls painted in ancient Egypt over 2,000 years ago still have remains of vibrant colors today. The paint they was made with egg yolk so it would stick to the surface and harden. Pigments were made from plants sands and different soil types.
