Unfounded rumours aside, Martin Borman died in early May of 1945 while attempting to flee Berlin and avoid capture by the Red Army. While there was some doubt as to his fate in the post war years (the West German government even offered a reward for information on his whereabouts/capture. If I remember correctly the reward was somewhere in the neighbourhood of $20,000 and was offered sometime in the late 1950's or early 1960's) a DNA test done on remains recovered during construction very near the spot he was said to have been killed confirm this. The DNA comparison using his son, done sometime in the 90's Ibelieve, prove beyond a shadow of a doubt Borman is dead. According to one online source his remains were then cremated and the ashes scattered, If I remember the article correctly, in the North Sea so as to avoid any neo-Nazi worship at a grave site. Hope this answers you question, Scott
