on a 92 it's drivers side, mounted on wheelwell, if you goto autozone.com and log in your info, then go to component locations that will tell you where all your relays are located, very well-informed a-z easy searching

im pretty sure the 94 grand marquis has the same engine as a 94 crown vic so it should be mounted on the starter, which is hell to take off by the way

∙ 8y agoThe starter solenoid is on the starter.
It's the smaller cylinder-shaped part of the starter assembly - the other is the starter motor itself.
Unless you're lucky enough to find a local shop that offers the solenoid separately - or repair it for you, the most common repair is a new/rebuilt starter.

there are many solenoids on that car. I am assuming you mean the starter solenoid? If so, it piggybacks on the starter.

The starter solenoid is attached to the starter using a couple of screws. It is the part that the wires connect to. Unhook the wires and remove the two screws that mount it to the starter to remove.

∙ 8y agoThe 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis starter relay switch can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The starter relay switch will be on the drivers side of the firewall.

Probably a bad starter solenoid.
The starter solenoid is located (in a 1989 mercury grand marquis), as you raise the hood, on the left hand side of the engine compartment. Just behind the battery. (you should be standing right in front of the passenger side headlight.)

The solenoid, or starter relay is on the inside fender on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It will have three or four electrical connectors, will be either black or brown, and is held onto the fender with two screws. Look near the hood lift struts. Replacing it is relatively easy. Just note where the wires connect, and follow the instructions in the package for the new part. As for the starter itself, it is also on the passenger side. However, it is under the car, at the very bottom of the engine. It actually bolts to the transmission case. In 1992 Ford used two different versions of the starter. One has three mounting bolts, the other has only two. It depends on the date of manufacture of your vehicle. If your Marq was made before February 1992, you should have a two bolt starter. If your Marq was made after February 1992, it should have three bolts. Replacing the starter itself is not that involved. I did it in my driveway using one jackstand, a floor jack, and a couple of sockets. It does help to remove both the front tire and the cross brace that runs from the nose to the side rail on the underside of the car. A good used starter should cost about $50.00 with the core charge. A new starter can run up to $200.00 or more depending on brand and warranty. A rebuilt unit can save you about $30.00. A starter relay will run anywhere from $10.00 to $40.00 depending on brand and warranty. I hope that helps.

Yes, a person can get a diagram of the PCV valve location in a 1989-1999 Mercury Grand Marquis. This diagram would be located in the maintenance books found in auto part stores.

There is no relay starter,only a solenoid attach to a right fender where all wires from a positive attach to. The solenoid of 95 is attached to the starter,not on the fender.
