Normally under a bolt on cover where the top hose meets the cylinder head or built into a housing along the top hose.
Follow the upper rad hose from the rad to the engine and it is in a housing there. When you replace it make sure the spring goes toward the engine.
Depending on make and model, it could be under the housing where either the upper or lower radiator attaches to the engine. Example: Dodge 2.7L, 3.7L, and 4.7L it is under the lower.
it mounts into the bottom of the water pump housing. the lower radiator hose mounts to the neck, the thermostat is under that neck. it is not an easy fix. it calls for 2.5 hours labor to replace, that is if you have all the correct tools and a lift to put the car on.
Its in the gearbox- tiptronics are very difficult to work on, leave it to a pro.
if you haven't changed the timing belt recently, you might as well change the timing belt, water pump, and both idler pulley and timing belt tensioner. This way you can set the timing with the proper tools, that's probably what you'll have to do anyhow since the belt moved, hopefully it didn't damage any valves when you tried to start it and the belt was off timing.
Unbolt lambda sensor, unbolt cat at front and rear flange. Drop it down, discard, and install new cat. Bolts are quite likely to be seized in place, so be prepared to cut them out and replace. Some luck might be had with nut splitters, penetrating oils and suchlike.
