Ras Cardo reggae from trench town, Jamaica was the first person to bring the authentic reggae facts to the Atlanta public. He did this in the early nineties by his appearances on radio and television as well as in the night clubs such as the Royal Peacock on Auburn avenue.
His first radio appearance came when he was a guest on the station-WRFG 89.3 FM with DJ -Pappa Dave. Then followed his appearances on the show with Atlanta DJ's of - Rockers International with Napti Walters and Lisimba. This was a show which aired on Saturday afternoons on the same station WRFG. He then made several appearances with Ras Marvin at the same place. He then was invited on WCLK by DJ' _ Glen Simmons, a station of Morris Brown college in Atlanta.
Ras cardo became an Atlanta reggae educator and speaker at several venues which involved reggae music and the works of legends like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and others. He then made appearances on several television stations like TV-69 with Ben Jonathan, TV-5, TV-8, TV-2 and was also featured in the Atlanta Journal and constitution article written on reggae origins by writer- Steve Dollar. He has toured the schools and colleges educating the youths on the mission of reggae in helping the people to a better life. He appeared on stage in the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta with the legendary reggae group- Black Uhuru- featuring Don Carlos and Garth Dennis. This was the first time any reggae band or group was telecast worldwide on the AT&T stage.
Ras Cardo has appeared and performed at the MLK Jr. Center in Atlanta on the honoring of the slain civil rights leaders birthday celebrations. His works in reggae in the Atlanta in the early and mid nineties is legendary. His legacy for the people in reggae continues.
