This is not really an answer, then your question could be a trick question. I think some toy maker, maybe in Hon Kong, invented the nickon,
which was a "toy" camera and I only saw one, in the hands of a street hawker. If your question actually referred to a Nikon, that's different, but that's a brand that came out after World War 2, in the 40's, or early 50's I doubt that you were around then, otherwise you would have known the answer, unless you really did mean nickon,
which wasn't an invention, but a very, very cheap plastic "copy"
