In May 1890, Van Gogh left the clinic at Saint-Rémy to move near the physician Dr. Paul Gachet in Auvers-sur-Oise near Paris, where would also be closer to his Theo. Dr. Gachet was recommended to Van Gogh by Camille Pissarro. Gachet had previously treated several artists and was an amateur artist himself.

What was the asylum called that Vincent van Gogh checked himself into?

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) checked himself in 1890 into an asylum in Auvers-sur-Oise, north of Paris. While I don't know its name, it was here that he began treatment with Dr. Paul Gachet, who became (like many people van Gogh encountered) the subject of many van Gogh art paintings. He was extraordinarily prolific during this period, creating some 70 art paintings in 70 days! You can read about some of the famous paintings van Gogh created during this time.

How much is Dr Gachet by Vincent Price?

Although many film actors have taken up painting, I am not aware that Vincent Price ever did. He was however an avid collector and widely respected in the art world. There are two paintings entitled 'Dr Gachet' done by Vincent van Gogh. One is held in a private collection and the other is in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Also, it is not possible to assess the value of a work of art until it is up for sale.
