Who is the most famous graphic designer?

In the Americas, Roger Black is. He is mainly a magazine designer. In Europe, Erik Spiekermann is the mann. You've probably never heard of either of them, which goes to show there really aren't any "famous graphic designers." We toil in anonymity.

To answer the question: classic, Neville Brody, David Carson, Saul Bass... todays big bangers: Steven (Stefan) Sagmeister, Massimo Vignelli, Ron Arad... just to name a few.

There is no such thing as a famous graphic designer. This business doesn't really call attention to itself. But with that, some of my favorite graphic designers are... Roger Black is a magazine designer. He either designed or redesigned most of the important national magazines of the 1980s. Bill Bernbach was an advertising designer. He is famous for such campaigns as Volkswagen's "Think Small" and Avis' "We Try Harder." Erik Spiekermann creates graphic packages for clients like the German National Railway.
