* Some assert President Obama is only the 43rd US President because Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms.
hmmm... great question.... There have been 15 Presidents of the United States who were Democrats, although certainly few of the early ones would recognize some of the issues we deal with in our century. This count includes Grover Cleveland once although he was elected in two nonconsecutive terms. That would be the same for the 18 Republican Presidents the 4 Whig Presidents, the 4 Democratic-Republican Presidents, the one Federalist President (Adams) and the one Independent President (Washington.) In terms of days in office by any party someone has gone to the trouble of calculating that information: Republican Party: 32,182 days (88 years, 40 days) Democratic Party: 28,823 days (78 years, 334 days) (incumbent) Democratic-Republican Party: 10,227 days (28 years) Whig Party: 2,921 days (7 years, 364 days) Independent: 2,865 days (7 years, 308 days) Federalist Party: 1,460 days (3 years, 364 days) For the ultimate in day count add days from March 14th 2012 to the Democratic column.
Straight from the Mayor, who was also the postmaster of Canaveral...they just ran out of room...they started building from the South (Avon by the Sea) and from the North and they just ran out of room. Also Presidents that served two non consecutive terms didn't get two streets as well as the Adams boys...same names didn't get separate streets either...
For the most part, the US federal government was dominated by the Republican Party from 1860 to 1900. This is a large span of time and there were times within these years that Democrats were elected as presidents, senators and representatives.
Three presidents of the US have visited Ghana up till this year 2010 and they are;1.Bill Clinton 2.George Walker Bush and 3.Barack Hussan Obama.
Republicans on current US money are Lincoln and Grant, unless you count the one-dollar coins which show Hayes, Garfield and Andrew Johnson, whose Republican credentials can be questioned. In past years, Republicans Eisenhower and Salmon P. Chase have been on US money.
To find the average number of years served by all US presidents up to 1997, divide the age of the nation in 1997 by the number of US presidents to 1997. This calculation will provide the average number of years served by each president.
Presidents can only serve for 2 terms. 4 years are in a term.
All the US presidents that served before 1956 or after April 1975.
There were 25 US presidents who never served in the Senate.

US Presidents do not have to have served in the military in order to be elected.
