u need to flush engine
use right viscocity oil
from flood water in engine you have some debri left in engine that is not allowing lifters to seat properly
probably still have some water in lifters
This engine probably has hydraulic lifters and no adjustment is required.
I would try an engine flush to clean the hydraulic lifters. Follow the directions on the can.
There could be various reasons for the tapping. My first inclination would be to check the oil dipstick level and be certain that the oil has been changed. Worn out dirty oil will wear out a motor fast. You could need the valves adjusted or something replaced in the valve train. However, it could be something more serious. If it is louder than just a mere tapping, I would say that you possibly have a rod knocking. If you catch this early enough, then it could be fixed by a mechanic with a few parts. If you wait too long, then the rod could eventually eat through your engine wall. The only safe way to fix that would be to replace the engine block or the whole engine.
No, a ticking noise could be lifters, rods, piston slap or who knows what else without hearing it.
There could be many reasons why the engine has no spark. A few reasons could be that the starter or starter solenoid is going bad, or the battery is drained.
typically no it should be hydraulic lifters unless someone has changed the cam and lifters in the engine.
In most cases, you can tell that your lifters are bad, in your car engine, by the ticking noise. A bad lifter will make a tapping sound.
possibly low oil or low oil pressure, the tapping may be coming from the oil operated hydraulic lifters.
bad lifters will rattle when engine is running at idle you will hear anything from clicking in engine to rapid tapping, depending on how bad and how many lifters are bad if vehicle has hydraulic lifters check for proper oil level in cngine

A tapping noise might come into the engine because of heat damage to the lifters of the motor. You might also hear a tapping sound if the engine has been damaged due to a blown head gasket.
were the valve tappets adjusted correctly they need to be rotated during adjustments ,also make sure you have correct viscosity oil in engine. it has hydraulic lifters and if oil is cheap, it will aerate and cause rattling
Tapping valves is a noise made by too much clearance between the valve lifter and the valve. Modern engines have hydraulic lifters. If you have too little oil pressure or run the engine low on oil, the lifters will make noise. The lifter can also wear out.
Typically vehicles that use hydraulic lifters & have more miles on them, tend to have a tapping sound until the engine is "warmed up." The hydraulic valve train is designed to eliminate the gap at all operating temperatures, though overtime the lifters wear out and don't fill with oil as quickly resulting in the tapping sound you hear until the engine has warmed up, and the lifters have been properly filled and lubricated.
the lifters are on the overhead of the engine the lifters are on the overhead of the engine the lifters are on the overhead of the engine
Actually "tappets" is a term that has not been used for a l;tong time. Yu are probably referring to the valves or lifters. If you are having a tapping sound coming from the top of your engine, the rockers probably have to be adjusted or there may be a problem with lifters or pushrods.
Usually it's the lifters in the engine making that noise until they become fully pressurized with oil, then they stop ticking, like on the 3 liter caravans.
