Ansme the Wise covers himself in red and black bandages to conceal his identity. He then creates the alias DiZ. DiZ's bandages happened to be red, because Tetsuya Nomura (Designer/Character Creator) simply decided to design him that way. Nomura is known for adding numerous straps, buckles, and zippers to most of his characters.

Ansem The Wise kills himself in Kingdom Hearts 2 because he gets the impression that the heartless inavasion was his fault for letting Xehanort continue his work because Xehanorts Heartless is the one that made the heartless stronger and therefore attack all the worlds. Ansem The Wise stopped his research when Sora was 10, Riku was 11 and Kairi was 9.
